Security and GDPR
Is Questo GDPR compliant?
Yes. Data is stored in the EU, we sign a data processing agreement with every school, and we process only the student data needed for the work. We show no ads and never sell data.
Where is the data stored?
The database and files are on a server in the European Union. The only thing that leaves the EU is the text you ask the AI to draft questions or flashcards from, and that travels under contractual safeguards. The AI never receives student data. Every supplier is named in our list of sub-processors.
Do you sign a data processing agreement with the school?
Yes. The data processing agreement is part of our terms and published on this website, so the school’s data protection officer can review it in advance. We’re happy to send you a signed copy on request.
What student data do you need?
First name and surname. An email address only for students who want to sign in with it. We don’t need a date of birth or a national ID number.
Students and accounts
What if students don’t have email?
The school creates accounts with a name and password and prints sign-in cards. Students sign in with the school address, username and password.
What if a student forgets their password?
The teacher resets it and prints a new card. The student doesn’t have to fill in anything.
Can people without an account take a test?
Yes, through a public link. A guest only enters a name. You can turn the link off or replace it at any time.
What it runs on
What does Questo run on?
In a browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Nothing to install. A phone is all students need.
What if a student loses the connection during a test?
The answers are kept on the phone and sent as soon as the connection is back. Nothing is lost.
Does the school need to set anything up on its network?
No. Internet access and an up-to-date browser are enough: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
Questions and content
Can I bring the questions I already have?
For now you add questions to the bank one by one and then copy them between sets and spaces. Bulk import is in the works; if you have a large collection, write to us and we’ll work something out.
Which question types does Questo have?
Single answer, multiple answers and open answer. Fill in the gaps, matching pairs and ordering are in the works; they will come with the Tutor and Organisation plans.
What happens when a teacher leaves the school?
Questions, tests and student results stay in the school’s space. Teachers keep only what is in their personal space.
Who can see my questions?
Only you see the questions in your personal space. In a school’s space, the colleagues you share them with see them.
Plans and cancelling
How do I pay?
Monthly or yearly, by bank transfer against an invoice. We invoice the school, the company or you.
What if I reach the limit?
Buy an extra send package, or wait for the next month when the limit resets. Tests and homework already under way are not affected.
How do I cancel?
At any time; just write to us. The paid period runs to its end, then the space stays read-only: you still see your questions, tests and results.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. The space’s owner writes to us and we delete the space with all its data.
